One of the sponsors for the Great Ormond Street Hospital ‘RBC Race for Kids’ Charity was a Local Web Design Business SME Media

With Vernon Kay on the mic and Paul Linney on the decks the ‘RBC Race for Kids’ Charity Event by GOSH was an exciting and enjoyable day for everyone who attended. Local web design & digital media company SME Media sponsored the event and covered all expenses for the well-known local DJ Paul Linney to take the stage for the duration.

Starting his day at 05:30 Paul was on-site and ready to begin by 9:00. So many contestants arrived to partake in the race which led to two start times, one at 10:00 and the other at half past. Paul commented ‘I absolutely love what the Great Ormond Street Hospital offers to the young people and children of our country. It was an honour to provide support and bring a good energy to the event in Hyde Park through music. Vernon was a good laugh as well’.

Over 600 seriously ill young patients arrive at the hospital daily for life-saving treatments and quality care according to GOSH. They are right in their statement ‘every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs’.

Charitable support has always been the driving force for Great Ormond Street Hospital and it is events such as this that keeps them afloat so they can continue to provide such a loyal and dedicated service.
At times be like this it becomes clear what can achieved when communities stand together. It’s estimated over 1 Million was raised by RBC Race for Kids Charity Event 2017 and as DJ Paul Linney stated ‘all was achieved without a dull moment’.

Co-founder of SME Media, Stephen Willoughby also played a part in the day’s events managing the logistics of the music set up and making sure that plenty of great photographic material was generated. He said “as a local company it was an absolute pleasure to provide all music for the RBC Race for Kids Charity Event by GOSH. It ran smoothly and Paul created a great vibe with a good mix of music; something for everyone.’

SME Media is a local website design company providing strategic support to companies in & around London. After delivering excellent support to the event as a whole, DJ Paul Linney then left to attend a corporate event at the Tower Bridge. I think we can safely say it was a tiring day for all those runners, and for the DJ too! Well done to all who took part.
