Either you or your marketing agency can specifically target those who would be interested in your product or service.  For example, if you sell baby products you can specify you only want your ads to be shown to parents of 0-1-year-olds and 1-2-year-olds.  You can also be specific to location, so you can only target those in your area of operation or those within your shipping zones.  You can even only retarget those that already follow your page if you’re looking to move prospects through the sales funnel.

This means that your budget isn’t wasted on irrelevant viewers, and with budgets starting at only £1 a day, Facebook ads are an affordable option for those with smaller marketing budgets.

Adding funds to your Facebook Ads account

If your marketing agency is managing your Facebook advertising for you, you can link your ads account directly to a bank card or PayPal account, or you may want to keep control of finances by adding your own funds to be used.

If you’re looking to manually add funds, it’s easy to do, and delaying doing this means delaying the success of your new leads.  If you’re unsure of how to do this, here’s a step-by-step guide.

    1. Firstly, it’s important that when you set up your ads account that it needs to be set up for ‘manual billing’ and not automatic (such as bank cards, direct debit, or PayPal).  Be sure to let your marketing agency know that this is how you want to bill your marketing on Facebook.
    2. To add funds, bo to the Billing section in Ads Manager.
    3. Click the ‘Payment Settings’ option.
    4. In this section, click ‘Add Money’.
    5. Choose your preferred method of manual payment method.  Fill in the information needed and then click ‘Continue’.

Once you’ve added funds to the account, it won’t expire and you can use it until it runs out.  You cannot withdraw it afterward, so be sure that the amount is correct when entering it.  Depending on the method of manual payment, the credit may go through immediately, or it may take a couple of days to clear.
